Thanks God, It's Friday

"What is it that you like doing? If you do not like it, get out of it, Because you'll be lousy at it. You do not have to stay with a job for the rest of your life, Because if you do not like it you'll never be Successful in it. "

The sentence above is the advice from a world-class business leader, named Lee Iaccocca. The point is, if you want to succeed in your career or business, you should start by finding what you enjoy, then do with focus and perseverance. With the passage of time, you will become an expert in that field. With it, the rewards in the form of matter, the status and various other awards will surely be yours.

Indeed, the work or any attempt would require hard work. There can be no true success with napping all day. However, if you enjoyed the activities / work, you will be much stronger and more vibrant in live it, even have a bath of sweat and tears.

In the movie Center Stage, told about two pretty girls who were practicing at the American Ballet Academy. That one girl named Maureen and the other one named Jody. Maureen has studied ballet since childhood, while Jody just started After graduating High School (SMU). According to the two coaches, Jody does not have legs and posture suited to be a Ballet dancer. Jody had threatened dropped out of the Ballet school.

In contrast to Maureen. He is not only beautiful, she also has legs that are very flexible and has very good technique. But one night a big show, where Maureen's supposed to be a protagonist, he does not appear on stage. His mother was confused and hurried out to look for Maureen.

In front of my mother who was disappointed, Maureen unburden himself. He resigned because he really never wanted to be a Ballet dancer. The only reason he did so for a dozen years is because his mother pushed him constantly. With tears, Maureen said: "You do not have legs like my feet, unfortunately I will not have a heart like the heart mama." Then they bowed and parted through different doors.

What about Jody?

Shown, when his friends were still asleep Jody practicing alone. The nails of his toes blisters and bleeding but he kept practicing. One time he told his coach: "I do not want to continue in college, I just want to be a ballet dancer."

For Jody, no activities / other work is more fun than to be a Ballet dancer. Long story short, with hard work and perseverance he succeeded in becoming a professional ballet dancer. At one end of the show where he was a protagonist, the coaches, friends and the entire audience stood applauding in appreciation of his success. That is the fruit of love for the job!

Conversely, if you do not love what you do and if you work solely for the sake of a monthly salary, you better start thinking about activities / other work that you love. Perhaps you can produce something to survive every month, but rest assured you will not be possible to carve gold ink success by doing things half-heartedly. About this, Kahlil Gibran once wrote ...

Work is a real love, a love that seemed
And if you do not work with love
But only reluctantly
Better for you not to work
And sitting alone in the street while begging
From the people who work with joy

If you do not like your job, you certainly will often delay the work. You'll quickly get bored, bored and grumbling constantly. You also have to force myself to get things done. You will not be encouraged to learn more about your work. For you, work is nothing but a misery.

Under these conditions, you may physically present in the office but your heart and mind were somewhere else. Reflected energy that you are always negative. And whether you realize it or not, your boss, your friends and your customers can actually feel the negative energy that you reflected it. As a result they do not feel comfortable working with you. The end result can already imagine, your performance must never satisfactory. With the passage of time, you will be a virus in the company, and all pihakpun be harmed.

Concepts or ideas like this are still foreign to most people. How not, we have been taught from childhood, either directly or indirectly, that the "work" and "pleasure" are at different poles. Both can not be united. For five days (Monday - Friday) we worked worked hard. Along the way we experience a variety of pressure and stress level we continue to increase. But on Saturday and Sunday, we enjoy a day of liberation. That is why on Friday, we heard people shouting for joy, "Thanks God, Its Friday!" In other words, thank goodness it's Friday! I'm free ...!

But consider this: The average one third of our time is up for work, eight hours per day. If you are tortured for five days a week because you do not like your job, imagine the consequences for your health and your overall life.

After reading all that you might then ask three things:

First, well hell, but today gini? What might be all anyone can do what he likes and gets enough reward from him? How a man who just graduated from elementary school, no experience and in mediocre financial condition? What might be ...?

Second, if indeed possible, where to start? Because now I still have not found the activity / work what I love.

Third, when I've found what I love, does that mean I have to get out of a job? Or I could start by loving what I do now?

The third question I will discuss in an article next week. For a while, ponder these two magic questions: (1) What activities do you like best even without being paid? If by doing an activity, five years from today you will get the material rewards of Rp. 50 Million per month (you can replace 50 Million to 500 Million, tergantunag your current condition). About whether the activity reflected in your mind?

For me, this activity is to stand on stage to motivate / train tens, hundreds and thousands of people. It also includes activities such as writing this. What about you?

See you on the next article, success to you!
